This is my OT 640 FW debrief video! I look forward to hearing more about all of your fieldwork experiences, and hope that this succinctly explains my two week experience in the skilled nursing facility.
I think it's great that the culture at your facility was laid back and allowed patients to decide when they wanted to participate in therapy. It definitely allows for practice to be more client-centered that way. It really is wonderful that your patients were eager to participate (even if the prime motivator was socialization), but even so you are getting them to engage in occupations! I'm glad you enjoyed your time there.
Lauren, I love that you got to experience a SNF! I did internships and things in SNFs in undergrad, but haven't done anything in OT school. I think it will really benefit you knowing about the difference in Medicare and insurance in the long run. It sound like you had a great time, thanks for sharing!
